Yes, we are headed to the town where we are having the wedding, to hopefully find a new venue for our dinner after. We lost our venue for that last week, and we have less than 5 mos. to go.

Trying to decide on my boudoir photographer (the ‘bee might see some more annoying posts from me on that subject Smile)

@ohheavenlyday: What kind of photographer are you looking for (what style)–maybe we can help!

I have some work I need to do to make up for the hours I’m missing by having today off (I don’t get paid holidays), but I definitely won’t spend the whole day on it. Aside from that, working out, reading, maybe a little shopping.

@hilsy85:

Someone with a very unintrusive/photojournalistic style. I’m not very big on portraits and will probably only get a couple done with immediate family. And a light hand with editing! I found one girl that was great but two days after I told her I was booking her and sending in her deposit/contract, she let me know she’d booked a wedding in Ohio instead, WTF!? The problem is, Savannah is a major wedding destination so photographers there tend to be pretty expensive- like, $7,000 packages expensive. I’ve had to start looking in Atlanta/elsewhere in the state and just accept I may have to pay travel fees to get someone more reasonable than a Savannah photographer.

@MandaMack:

LOL, yes, I’ve learned that if they have their pricing labeled as “Investment,” it means you will have to take out a second mortgage to afford them.

@ohheavenlyday: Thank you. Omg! I cannot believe I didn’t think of that, especially livin’ there for so many years. Ah I wish I were there right now. I could use a day off. I was seriously thinkin’ of calling in sick this morning. It feels like my body has been ‘trained’ to take off on this day. Haha! Well I’m holding off for our ‘Family Day’ in Canada coming in Feburary. (Which I do not get off so sucky-ducky!)

@Sasha2011:

I think MLK Jr. day exists partly to honor MLK and partly to give people a reason to stay home once during the month because January is just so shitty and depressing that we all need just one day. Same for President’s Day in February, LOL. It’s like the government just decided to throw us all a bone.
