My fiance and I are paying for our wedding ourselves. His parents will be throwing the rehearsal dinner so I will get them a thank you gift for that. As well as something for his mother and sister for throwing my bridal shower.
But do I need to give gifts to the rest of our parents even if they arent paying for the wedding?

Eh, we SORT OF did. My parents did contribute to the wedding, my husband’s parents did not. The two sets of them (his dad/step mom and mom/step dad) split the rehearsal dinner, which was a total cost of about $500.
But still, we wrote all three sets thank-you letters and we gave them each an IOU for a wedding album with photos of their choice paid for by us.

We gave gifts to my parents, his Aunts (2), his Uncle, and his Gramma (his parents are deceased…. they are the only family he has left). We gave them gifts to thank them for the 3+ decades of love, support, advice, guidance, and joy that they have brought to our lives. Neither of us would be who we are today if it were not for their influence in our lives.
