I shipped mine to moissaniteco, and I had my shipping insured. My ring is still loose, however, so I would make sure you know exactly how much your ring needs to be sized down. It cost me about $50 to send it back with the insurance and expedited shipping! :X

I was going to, and would have done it locally. Even the large jewelry stores only charged like $30.

It takes around a week to two weeks, depending on the intricacy of your ring. Most places quoted me around 4-7 days because mine is a simple solitaire setting. More intricate bands would take up to two weeks max, just because they don’t want to mess up the setting when they resize. πŸ™‚

I haven’t bought from them, but there’s an active thread of someone who had a horror story getting their Moissanite Co ring sized locally. While I’m sure this happens very rarely, I feel as though this is one of those times where it’s better to play it safe and send it back to Moissanite Co. Sure, it’ll take longer and the shipping will probably be more expensive than sizing it locally, but it’ll give you piece of mind, as well as not void your warranty

I had to resize mine, although that was in no part an error of Moissaniteco as I intentionally close to go a half-size bigger. However, the ring kept slipping down my finger so I had it resize at a local jewellers, and they had the job done in less than a week and I couldn’t be happier.

@CharleighT:  yeah, I’ve tried to warn as many people as possible! Haha. I’m sorry yours in too big! I asked them if they could resize mine based off the string I have tied around it now and they said yes, so if you end up sending yours in you could always do that! I must say that I got my ring back SO fast when they resized it. I think it was like 5 days! Really awesome. Yet I still don’t want to part with it to have it resized again lol.

WARNING! If you don’t ship it to moissaniteco and get it sized somewhere else you void your warranty! I got mine engraved at the last minute for the wedding and unknowingly voided the warranty.

@CharleighT:  Hey! i’m still just sizing mine via the string method and haven’t sent it in yet. but yeah, i just wrap string around the ring (just at the bottom) until it fits snug, and they said that if i sent it with the string wrapped around they would size it and see how much they need to size it down. i definitely think that’s the way to go, because that way they’re using all their sizers and everything! i reallyyyy need to send mine in to get resized, since i’ve lost a little weight and now my ring is definitely awkwardly big lol. let me know how it goes! good luck!

@CharleighT:  oh no! yes, i definitely think their sizing is way off, and if i send it in to them i will do the whole “tying a string on so that it’s snug and telling them to size it off of that”. but i do plan on getting my wedding band custom made (By David Klass!) so i think i’ll do that and send it to him so that he can measure the height, width, etc of my e-ring to make the wedding band match well. πŸ™‚  i’m sooo sorry that the stone you had replaced looks wrong. πŸ™ i’d say it’s either a badly cut stone or like you mentioned it could be crooked. what are you going to do?? send it back again? πŸ™

@CharleighT:  I’ve read about a lot of girls with moissaniteco rings having the stones fall out. Is this a common problem that I should be concerned about when purchasing from them? How long after purchase will they replace the lost stones for free?
