My mom and I were in line at Target at 4am. Our plan was Target, KMart, and Walgreens. The verdict:
-Target was a madhouse. they decided to put the Nikon cameras behind the electronics desk and you had to stand in line and pay then. SUCH A PAIN. The electronics and toy departments were SO crowded and we had to keep switching off who watched the cart. We couldn’t get BluRay discs or the Scene It game. But got everything else. Money I saved: $160.
-Kmart was crowded but much less than Target. Had to wait forever for a manager to unlock the memory cards which held us up. But we were able to get everything, including the doorbuster Snuggies and the drill for my Dad. Lines were long, but only about 20 minutes. Money I saved: $110
-Walgreens was totally dead. We were able to get GIGANTIC dog beds (my mom has greyhounds) for $5/each. Walgreens brand Tylenol for 99 cents. Vaseline brand lotion for 99 cents. 20 batteries/$10. In and out in ten minutes. Money I saved: $40
Total saved: $300+
All in all, a major success, although took a little longer than usual. Now off to meet with florists and try on MOB/MOG dresses. Wooo!

good for you! I went to the mall, at 7. Only needed to get this round animal pillow my son loved, and ended up with all sorts of other stuff! But the lines and crowd was ridiculous! You were constanly bumping into people!

I pulled into the parking lot at work at 6:45 and there were NO PARKING SPACES. It was absolutely nuts! Thankfully, we didn’t open til 9 so all the people kept trying to open the door. We just looked at them and shrugged. Glad to hear you saved so much, though!

I’m not going shopping until tonight, our mall is open until midnight, so I’m going to go around 10 and hope a lot of people are shopped out!

Lol. I just bought a cashmere sweater and a pair of black pants for the future hubby for work. The mall was a mess. Crazy! I think the FH wants to get the desktop at Office Depot but that is a two day sale so he probably will go tomorrow

i didnt even bother to leave the house till 7 for walmart since i was pretty sure that no one would even want the stuff i was going to get. just went and got a cross cut paper shredder for $25 even though every where else i seen was like 60+. a small mini chopper and hand mixer for $4 each. a couple of jump drives and just a game that my co-worker has been looking for. i was actually in and out in like 30 mins total. couldnt believe it was that short.
im just glad i decided to go to the walmart where i lived instead of where i work. i heard that at the walmart where i worked it was still mad crazy at like 11. we had a walmart employee as a client and when he came in around 1ish they had already done $42k in sales at that one. then we have bath and body works as clients and they had already done $21k around 2ish.

Woof that’s a lot of shopping, hotchild!
FH and I went to the mall today around noon, and it wasn’t too bad. Well, it was bad for him, but he hates crowds. We got all four volumes of American Dad! for $80! Originally would have been 160. We also got a TV tuner card for his computer, because we don’t have a TV, and watching TV on our cruddy internet gets really old.

I have no idea how much we saved per se, since we mostly shopped BECAUSE of sales, LOL. Everywhere was slightly crazy, but the only store that was ridiculous was Old Navy, where the checkout line wrapped around the store, but of course, you didn’t know how bad it was until you turned the corner, kind’ve like waiting in line for a roller coaster……
Still fun though! All my holiday shopping is done so I’d count it as SUCCESS!

I had to work and hate dealing with the crowds. I looked online and found those robot vacuums. They not only do carpet but are better for hardwoods, which is the entire first floor except the kitchen. Normally 200 or more, got at Kohls online for 100, then extra 15% off, plus $10 kohls cash for every $50 spent. I got one for us and one for my parents who just went from carpet to hardwoods. I was telling hubby what a great deal I got for my parents’ present, and he goes, “we should get one too.” I said, “Already did.” Good deals!
Also got two of those things that keep 3 different foods warm- will be nice to entertain and one is a gift, normally 100, got for 30 bucks each.

It wasn’t that great. I went to Target at 9:30AM to use our registry completion discount of 10%. I bought everything in two separate transactions because my cart filled up too quickly right away and I couldn’t navigate the aisles with all the people. Imagine navigating the aisles full of people with a broom and an ironing board sticking out of your cart! The lines at Target weren’t long at all at 9:30AM. Many registers were completely open. But most of the doorbusters were gone. I wanted the 700 thread count sheets and they were gone. As were the sherpa hoodies. I did get a cheap sewing machine. I ended up spending a lot of money at Target but bought a lot of Xmas presents for people and bought a lot of the items remaining on our registry!
Then I headed on over to our shopping mall just to go to Herbergers to use the $10 off coupons I had. What a disaster. No parking whatsoever. I had to follow people who were leaving the mall to find a spot and ended up parking in the far back lot. Then I got in the store and it was packed. Could barely move and the lines were wrapping around the store. Plus I couldn’t find any of their doorbusters. They were in the weirdest places! I did successfully buy a pair of the Emu boots they had as a doorbuster. I got the last pair in my size! I tried to find something I could use the $10 off coupon on but it wouldn’t work on “incredible deals”, clearance, or “doorbusters” and practically everything in the store was one of those. So I didn’t even get to use the coupon. What a scam. Then I didn’t want to wait in the huge lines just to buy my pair of boots so I went to an open cosmetics counter and luckily the lady there was really nice and let me pay for my 1 item.
Getting out of the mall was another huge hassle. There are only two exits and the line to get out was huge. I was trying to leave my parking spot and turn left into the line and people wouldn’t let me out. I was forced to make a right turn then do a U-turn later so that I could finally make a right turn into the line. But I got stuck behind another person trying to make a left from the right lane and no one would let her out. God it was just ridiculous. I will never go to the mall on Black Friday again!

Hey we did great today!
Elliptical: $1049 down from $2500
Garage door opener: $139 on sale from $199
Various clothing items from JCrew and Banana Republic: Probably not that much….lol. Stuff was on sale, but nothing CRAZY good. I stuck to the sale racks and only spent $100 at BR and spent $250 at JCrew but bought like, 7 items. Williams-Sonoma didn’t have anything I wanted on sale.
Is it me, or did the Black Friday Mall Sales seem poopier than usual? Maybe i was just in the wrong stores. I was expecting some super cheap sweaters. Granted they were like $10 off so I still did pretty good.
We went to the mall at 830 am. Chestefield mall. And we got UP FRONT parking and it was not even busy. Busy but not packed like you guys are describing. No madness. I stood around for 5 minutes playing on the machines and then walked right up to some old guy in a blue vest and he came right over and helped! They still had “doorbuster” items on sale, too–they weren’t out of much.

Hubby and I went to Target when we got off of work. I decided not to wake up and go in the morning since my boss ended up telling me she needed me to come in earlier if possible. I figured I wouldn’t be able to get out of there with the lines to get to work on time. It was still kind of crazy when we got there, but not a madhouse. It did irritate me that soooo many people took their kids shopping with them. Seriously? If I had to go shopping like that with kids (if I had any), there’s no way I would have gone. Most of the door busters were gone, but I did see a lot of 42in flat screen TVs for sale still. I’m not sure how much those cost though. I was hoping to get a $3 coffee maker, but they were gone :p The lines weren’t bad at all. It seemed long at first, but I guess that’s because everyone was hopping in the first line they saw lol if you walked down a bit more of the registers were open. There was only one person ahead of us in line and they only had like 3 items.
BUT. I got a Nintendo DSi on amazon.com for $155 instead of the usual $170 AND it was a bundle too 🙂 I went online right quick before work and I saw I had an offline message from my brother about it so I bought it right quick. When I got back home and checked it out again, it was sold out 🙂 I was pretty excited about that!
