Well Monday I went in to the docs because my at-home UTI strips tested positive for Leukocytes but negative for Nitrites.
I went in, and they tested my urine with THEIR test strips and said I indeed had one (they said they say Leukocytes (LU) being positive gets treated as a positive, while some doctors only say it’s positive if LU AND Nitrites are present).
So in my earlier post I mention i’ve been on Macrobid, I literally JUST took another dose 10 mins ago when I get a phone call that my urine came back negative for bacteria growth and that I can STOP taking them!
She said I should call my gynocologist……..not a urologist..GYNOCOLOGIST! Am I missing something here?
I read on the package and elsewhere that leukocytes can be found in pregnant women….and we DID TTC this month.
Oh my dear lordy…the plot thickens.
PS – I had no usual UTI symptoms, the only thing that prompted my to check for UTI was my bladder felt tight/achey and pinchy pain sometimes…
No fever, no hurting when I pee, no nothing…
Not sure if this should be wellness or pregnancy, though I’d love to hear both sides!

@BellaDee: It’s more common for women to be referred to their gyne for urinary problems rather than to a urologist (there are even practicing gyneurologists!)
I still think it’s too early to tell based on your dates but definitely follow up on it. A blood test can show pregnancy 7-12 days after conception.

@beachbride1216: Well today is day 7! So maybe by the time I get an appt I can find out at the doctors…though that’s not how i’d like to find out 🙁 lol

Or you have a yeast infection from being on the antibiotics. Just call your gyno and figure it out. 🙂

@almostmrsj: The symptoms I have started before the antibiotics..those were the same symptoms I was treating! No yeast infection here.

Just called the gynocologist…they didn’t have any appts within the next week so they transfered me to a nurse.
She said that it could just be before AF pains, pregnancy, but they can’t say for sure until after AF is due, and as long as my symptoms don’t get worse to not worry.
I was just being proactive with my earlier symptoms because I had a kidney infection last year that was the worst of my life!
BTW – Now I don’t know why i’m peeing so much…because I chalked it up to a UTI!
Well…guess i’ll just havta wait!

You could have painful bladder syndrome. Try eating a more alkaline diet and see if that helps, and test your water to make sure it is at a PH of 7 or higher.
