Our wedding was Friday. We chose it because we preferred it so guests could still have their whole weekend free. It cost exactly the same as a Saturday and Saturday availability still existed when we booked. Our ceremony was at 6:30 thoygh. Everyone except one person made it to both the reception and ceremony.

My cousin had a Friday wedding but had her ceremony at 2 pm. I made the reception but not the ceremony. I think if you are doing g a Friday, it is best to have a later ceremony.

We are having a Friday wedding. At first I hated the idea, as our ceremony is only able to be at 4:30 at the latest, but we had to do what we had to do. And it is saving us $7,500 so we really couldn’t pass that up. We haven’t had any complaints so far, most people are happy to take a few hours or a day off from work. We did give everyone plenty of notice though because I know a lot of people who have to put their vacation time in at the beginning of the year.

We are getting married on a Thursday, so I’m all for it!

krystle5712:  You don’t have an option for “it depends.”

We were unable to attend one we were invited to as it would have meant leaving work early to get there on time and I simply don’t have the paid time off to devote to anyone besides my immediate family.

This was a waaaay out of town wedding to boot.

In NYC, many people, including me, can take off early on Fridays.  I would attend.

It would depend who you are, when it was, where it was, and how much vacation time I had.

My sister/close family member? Super. My friend who lives in the same city? Great. Distant relative getting married halfway across the country in December? Maybe not. Also it would depend on flight times I could get and when the ceremony/reception was.

We’re having a Friday wedding this month! Almost everyone invited is attending. We are starting our wedding at 6 pm, and then move right onto the reception in the same place. We will be there around 3 or so for pictures/set up, and we have limos bringing us, our party and almost all the guests both ways. Some people will be missing a day of work, but with everyone’s schedules all over the place these days, that would happen no matter when we decided to marry.

Better than a Sunday, but doesn’t thrill me. If nearby I’d def go but further than an hour and a half drive, probably not except for family

Love Friday weddings, but love them even more when they start later.
