I have a strange gift idea, thought I would run it by the hive. My Maid/Matron of Honor is a huge jewelry lover (like, fine jewelry). I have a necklace I received when I was maybe 19 from an ex-boyfriend that is really really beautiful. It’s has diamonds, it’s white gold, a classic design. A year or two ago I told my BFF that I was going to try to sell some jewelry and she made me promise not to sell that one because she loves it, so I didn’t. (It’s gorgeous, but I’m not really going to wear it again).
I was planning to get her some pearl and diamond earrings she mentioned a long time ago for a ‘bridesmaid’ gift, and I was thinking about also giving her the ex-boyfriend necklace. It needs a little repair, so I would get it spiffed up for her, and it’s not, you know, in place of getting her a ‘new’ gift, I’m already at least getting her pearl earrings (which are not for the wedding, she’s brought them up).
Thoughts? We’re not really superstitious people or anything, I just want to make sure my gift is well received. And that way someone who I know loves it can enjoy it. Thoughts? Her birthday is also in February (two months before the wedding), I could give it to her then as well (we don’t usually exchange nice birthday gifts, so it would be a little special. Any advice welcome!
