I have an Oleg Cassini petite dress style CT258. When I bought the dress, David’s Bridal insisted that I get the 16p ( the largest petite size) since I am only 5’0, although it was a size too small. If I went with a size 18, I would have had to get it hemmed and there would have been about 4-6 inches of material taken off, which to them was too much, especially with all the beading. I am worried that the corset isn’t going to look good on this dress. Here are a couple of pictures. Sorry if they seem blurry. Please give me your opinions.

Most dresses are made to be altered up or down up to 2 sizes. So if it is just a size to small you should be able to let it out a little and have it fit. I have an oleg cassini gown to, although its a different style, and there is enough extra material in the seams to let it out. If you do go for alterations- I recommend anywhere thats NOT davids bridal. I’m saving over $150.00 by getting an out of store person to do my alterations.
I love that gown – it looks gorgeous!

@nikkialys: Thank you, I didn’t know that it could be taken out up to 2 sizes! I will have to ask around to see if anyone recommends someone here it town for alterations.

No problem! You have to check on your particular dress but like 99% of dresses are made with some allowance for alterations

This is an old thread but I want to leave word for others that I have the Cassini CT 258 and I was told that particular dress can NOT be let out, but can be taken in. I just had my fitting today and I’m having a corset back put in because of my crazy water fluctuations to be on the safe side. 🙂
