Hello, Fellow Bees!
My fiance and I are having a “non-traditional” wedding in the fact that we are not having a wedding party or a flower girl or a ring bearer. We do, however, want to honor one friend each. So, we’ve decided that I’ll ask a friend to be a bridal attendant and he’ll ask a friend to be his groom’s attendant (or whatever you’d call it for a guy).
Yes, yes, we could just have them be Maid of Honor and Best Man, but we aren’t really sure we want to do that. We aren’t wanting anyone to stand up with us and nor do we want anyone to walk down the aisle in the traditional way groomsmen and bridesmaids do. If we designated them as Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor, and then told them they would not be processing/standing up with us, then we’d feel bad, or whatever.
Anyway, long story short … we have two friends we want involved and honored, but we’re not too sure we want to have a Maid/Matron of Honor or a Bridesmaid or Best Man. So, how could we honor them? Suggestions? Also, if we go the bridal/groom attendant route, what’s a cooler or more special name to call them instead? We aren’t looking for “bitches” or “slaves”, just a special title to set these two people apart. 🙂
Thanks ladies! 🙂
