I personally like carnation bouquets when there are no other flowers in them besides carnations. They have a really nice textured, graphic quality. I like that second photo- maybe you could do something like that and then have your maids carry smaller, single colored carnation bouquets.

Personally, I like carnations. 🙂 And so does Carrie Bradshaw. If you go with all white, mix it up with a few light pink ones. All white has a tendency to look slightly fake, in my humble opinion.

I love-love carnation bouquets, especially when they’re bunched tightly together. They look awesome!

I think if you’re going to do a carnation bouquet, it should be ALL carnations. I really like the size uniformity, especially if they’re different colors like your second picture. 🙂 I’ll admit to never loving carnations, but that second picture especially is making me rethink my stance!

I think it would look great. I agree with you about the fullness. Wouldn’t you need twice as many roses to get the same look? What are your wedding colors?

Beautiful!  I love how pretty they are!  You could do your own bouquet in the multicolored shades… and have each bridesmaid carry only one shade…  !

As the PP’s mentioned, when they’re tightly tightly bunched I love them. I think they look so darn fabulous.

While I generally dont like carnations, I do love the tightly grouped bunches of a large amount of carnations. Martha Stewart has done some amazing looking all-carnation arrangements – you might look around her website for some more inspiration (and maybe tips on arranging them).

Everything I’ve read warns that white flowers can look kind of yellow in pictures and that they are more likely to look like they are wilting than colored blooms – so that’s something to consider. I think it’s really up to you whether your bouquet matches the bm’s bouquet color (though I would make yours a bit fuller/bigger than theirs 🙂

I like it, so ruffly.  I also prefer carnations to be straight carnations if you’re going to use them.
