I go by an assumed name. i started going by it a short time before i met my fiance, and i decided i would legally change it when i was already going through the name change process.
but, what i want to know is if my fiance will have to use my legal name, instead of my assumed name in our wedding ceremony, which is definitely not something i want. i realize my legal name will be on the paperwork. but i use my legal name as minimally as possible.
any info you guys can share

I definitely don’t think that’s necessary. I am not positive, but I am using my nickname throughout our whole ceremony, and will just use my legal name on the certificate. I’m sure you could call the Clerk of Courts and double check, or ask your officiant.

@futuremrswood25: My Darling Husband is a pastor and ordained minister, and I just asked him. He said you would have to have your legal name on the marriage license itself. However, you would not need to use your legal name during the ceremony.
