Yes I absolutely think it’s a great option! Personally I wish I would have know more about that option before getting engaged! I found a ring I live but I could have gotten a nicer diamond for less money if I had bought used.

My ring is vintage. Originally we bought new but a stone fell out and the jewellers could not or would not fix it. I was heartbroken because i loved the design. It was quite unique and i had never saw one like it before. He scoured etsy and found this AMAZING vintage ring that is very similair to what I had and is just me on so many levels. I love how dark the sapphires are, how much I adore the band and how classic it looks. Not sure if it was an engagement ring before but it was definately pre-owned. I’m all for giving things a new lease for life and I’m so glad that this will bring me so much joy and that it has a history.

My friend’s boyfriend ordered a pre-owned ring but the center stone turned out not to be a real diamond so the seller lied! He’s being refunded in full thank goodness and the ring is going back.
The pre-owned ring I ordered (in hopes of resetting the diamond) is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I’ll have to post about it if it ends up being amazing.

If it comes with a certificate from AGA or GIA, or if it’s vintage with an appraisal, I’d be all over it.

Chiming in to say check out jewels by grace if you don’t think you like pre-loved jewelry. Drool-worthy site!

Heck yes, I’d be OK with a pre-owned ring. I like preowned diamonds for the same reason I like certified pre-owned luxury vehicles — it’s smart savings for something fabulous. Also, like PP said, some things they just don’t make the way they used to. So when it comes to intricate settings for rings, or heavy-weight precious metal necklaces, I am all about pre-loved.
