Err I think of Crispin up some fish or something. I would not name my kid this.

Eh.  To me it very much sounds like a brand name (which it is–it’s a hard cider) or the cultivar name of an apple variety (which is also very much a branding thing).  So in either case to me its like you named your kid Pabst or Jonagold or something.

I mean, its better than the people who name their kid ESPN or something (which, unfortunately, is in fact a thing) but it’s still not a name I’d opt for, personally.

The first thing that came to mind is the actor the played Marty McFly’s dad in Back to the Future. Don’t particularly like the name personally.

If I met someone named that, I’d assume it was some kind of family name. It seems kind of odd otherwise

Sounds like a fried food.

Not a fan. I think of Crispin Glover eating a bucket of crispy fried chicken.

My first thought with unusual names is what they’ll be nicknamed/how the name will be shortened. In this case I’m pretty sure you’d end up with a kid named Crispy or Crisp.

Makes me want cheez-its or something.

But for real the last time I saw that name was in history class from like the 1700s haha.

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be rememberèd—
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.

I love Crispin Glover, but he’s a weird dude who you probably don’t want to associate your child with forever.
