Not for me. There are several other recent threads about themed-weddings and the response has generally been no. To paraphrase another Bee, they are too reminiscent of birthday parties for kids.

Oh man, I would love to go to that wedding. I’m not having a theme wedding, but I’d have a lot of fun at one.

There have been at least 2 other threads today about theme weddings. Am I missing something? LOL

I wouldnt have a theme wedding but I think nothing of others that choose to. If that’s what they want to do then more power to them! I do think it should be something that means something to them and not just a popular movie/character/thing of the time that they randomly choose.

I kind of have an aquarium theme idea. Not taking place in an aquarium with the cheesy music, but I’ll have blues, teals, greens, etc. And Fiance wants these as centerpieces. haha

Our ‘theme’ is travel, however, it’s not over the top. Our tables are not numbered, but named after the various places we’ve travelled to together. Someone once asked if the guests had to dress up like the people from the country of the table they were sitting at. That’s when I realised that we weren’t really hard-core into the theme. My SO doesn’t like to wear costumes, so it would be tricky to get him to attend a themed wedding where he had to dress up in something other than a suit. I think they are kind of neat, but I’ve never been to one.

I would love to for once go to a themed wedding! I’ve never been! I think it would be fun. 🙂 My friend always talks aboiut when she gets married how she’s having a medeval themed wedding. I can’t wait!

@ForeverBirds:  I’ll be the token G O T element on my own with my multiple dragon tattoos. I also have hundreds of dragon figurines which I guess the smaller ones could be used as cake toppers and the larger ones could be used as centerpieces. I have dragon paintings, dragon jewelry, a pet bearded dragon. Damn, I should really change my theme from ocean to dragons come to think of it…

I think themes can be nice if they are either all out or very subtle.
