I am thinking of doing mismatched bridesmaid dresses for my wedding. It will be a late spring/early summer wedding and held outside. My main color is purple (obviously!) 🙂 I’d like to give the girls some options of dresses that I’ve found and they can decide between them who will where what based on what looks good on everyone. What do you think of these 5 dresses?

really nice selection, not sure about the strapless number, only because it seems less cohesive with the rest

I like them! I think that htey still go together enough. I want to do something like this and have enjoyed seeing other posts where brides have a selection of dresses. My ladies are all diferent heights and body types and i know at least one would HATE a strapless. I’d actually see myself wear the first and second again.

I like them, but I agree with Breathless that the strapless dress doesn’t really “fit” with the others since the others all have straps.

I agree with the PPs that the strapless gown seems out of place. The others are very adorable!

Thanks for the input! I have done a little more searching today and have another grouping. I’m not quite sure if the belting on all of them is too much and makes it too busy though, thoughts?

I like all of the dresses but the first one on the 2nd set of pictures, the bubble bottom is hard to wear if you are not skinny. If you have girls with bigger hips/thighs I think it will be hard to wear that. I love the strapless dress in the 1st and 2nd set of pictures!

I think some of the dresses are very pretty. Before you changed the grouping, I was going to agree with the prior posters who said that the first strapless dress seemed out of place. However, the new grouping raises some additional issues. I agree with you (the original poster) that the texture of all of the different belts may be distracting. However, what bothers me most is the fact that, according to the rules of fashion, a dress that is strapless should not then also be very short. I think the bubble dress would show too much skin, especially for a wedding.

Gorgeous color! I love the idea of letting BM’s choose the dress they like the most. Like others before me have noted, I would probably pick five dresses without any details (like belts) or make sure the details all look similar. The different details might make the wedding party look less refined. I disagree that a strapless dress should not be very short… especially if it’s going to be warm on the wedding day! I personally wouldn’t wear that bubble dress because I don’t much care for my own legs, but someone else might love to wear it….

Thanks again for the feedback! The bubble dress isn’t really very short, I think it just looks so on the size 2 6′ tall model!. I have the same one in a different color, I’m 5’8″ and a size 6 and it would be a bit short on me for a bridal party, but the girl who would be wearing it is 5’2″ so should be fine. I did some more searching and found some more that I think might be more appropriate for a bridal party (see below). Not loving the selection of dark purple though for an outdoor wedding, so I may have to go a different direction. I will be posting other options though for input!! 🙂

@Tigrrlily04: I think all of them are amazing. Just make sure they are all the same length or close to the same lenght or they will look wacky

I really like the 1st and last dress in the first grouping….as another bride who is doing purple dresses for an outdoor wedding, where did you find these dresses?? Thanks!!

@Tigrrlily04: Who makes the dress in the 2nd row on the left? I really like that one!
