It does seem a little outdated, but I love the collar and the back.  Do you think it might be too much alter it into a trumpet? I think that would be beautiful.

I’m not really big on sleeves, but you’re right, the back is gorgeous.  If you changed the skirt, I think it would be a really beautiful dress.

omh this is beautiful. if you altered it to a trumpet or a mermaid it would make it look more modern i think. def go for it! i LOVE it! 🙂

I think it does look a little outdated, but has many beautiful elements. With a slightly updated skirt, and maybe removing the sleeves, I think it would be really cute!

wow.. if you trumpet this skirt and either shorten (right below elbow) or remove the sleeves, it’ll be a stunner.

I love this dress just the way it is.  I would not alter it.  It is classic and timeless.

Ooooh I think it’s really pretty, but I don’t like the bell sleeves.  The dress reminds me of Ivanka Trump’s dress a little… maybe you could alter the sleeves and make them like this:

I was thinking of 3/4 sleeves similar to Ivanka’s as well (i’d be afraid cap sleeves would date it without keeping that classic look but the bell sleeves make it look dated but not classic)! Plus I’d maybe look into getting a modified a-line or slim a-line, maybe it’ll alleviate the costs of getting a full blown mermaid or trumpet? I’d imagine bustling would be simple it’s just a question of which style looks best and that can be played with once you get it.

@ddubz – I was just thinking of suggesting sleeves a la Ivanka Trump and finding a pic to post, but you and I were apparently thinking the same thing!!!!!! I agree 100%!!
