It seems odd to me that the BMs bouquets are more expensive than the centerpieces.  Our centerpieces are $200 per table.  The BMs bouquets are around $75-100.

Also, to save $ you could try and use the ceremony flowers for the centerpieces…just a thought…

Is your florist in NJ? I just got a quote from a florist in central Jersey who charges similar fees.. I ordered high and low centerpieces and ceremony decor too so mine came out to be around $3500 (including tax and setup fees). But things like petals in the aisle, for flower girl and for the cake were all on the house

Overall, the price sounds very good. I do agree that it seems odd the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets are more than the centerpieces. Are the Bridesmaid or Best Man very large?

It sounds about right to me, and I’m in NJ too. Depends on where you live, tho,to get an accurate version of ‘normal’ prices.

I’m assuming you gave your budget first? That was a problem we had too, as the quotes we got initially somehow managed to get exactly at our budget!

I agree with others…I think all of those looks about normal.  Except the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets might be a little expensive.  Most of the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquet prices I got were between $50-$65 for each one…so these are about $20 over.  It could be possible just to make them smaller.  If you get them down to $65 each that’s $100 right there.

@lauraminn:  My wedding is in Northern Jersey, but I chose florists from all over to hopefully save a couple of bucks. ๐Ÿ™‚ I got quoted $5k for a local florist. There was no way

I’m in Pittsburgh and that is just about what my quote is as well! I think it sounds like great pricing!

That’s about what we paid for our florist in Baltimore so I think the price is definitely reasonable.  As far as the cost of individual items, I don’t think it matters that much as long as you told the florist the “look” that you were going for with the centerpieces and the bouquets, and they said that is what they are going to achieve.  I would still check and make sure you are going to get exactly what you want though–they should be able to send you some example pictures.

@lauraminn:

haha oops. I did mean the bouquets, not the Bridesmaid or Best Man. hehe. Like Kes18 said, $85 sounds like a lot for Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets, unless they are larger and full bouquets (9-10 inch diameter or larger). I agree that $50-$65 range is average price for the BMs…but if that’s what you want then go for it. Again, overall, I think that’s a pretty good price. I paid $75 and $85 for my smaller centerpieces, and I don’t think it had as many flowers as yours.

Looks similar to my quote. My centerpieces were less than my bridesmaid bouquets, as well, but I want simple centerpieces. My bridemaid bouquets are $45. I kept the price down by making them similar to mine but without the more expensive flowers that are in the bridal bouquet.

I have a couple of things to add..

Generally, Maid/Matron of Honor bouquet is slightly bigger than the bridesmaids bouquets.  Quotes I’ve gotten were always about $10 cheaper for BM’s.

I think $75 for Maid/Matron of Honor and $65 for Bridesmaid or Best Man would be more standard.

Not necessarily anything wrong with bouquets costing more than centerpieces.  Mine do as well.  My centerpieces have less flowers I think though.  I’m doing 3 different height cylinder vases per table with submerged flowers and floating candles on top.  He’s not really charging us for the vase rental as we were a referral. My centerpieces are $50 per table. BM’s $65 each and Maid/Matron of Honor $75.

Also, you are having quite a few different flowers in your bouquets/arrangements.  The particular flowers you choose affect the price as well.

I’m getting married in North Jersey as well so if you want another florist to check out to compare prices, contact Vito at The Potted Geranium in East Hanover.  He is lovely and seems to do excellent work.  There are many examples on his website.  He came highly recommended to us.

All in all though, I think your price is pretty good. ๐Ÿ™‚
