(Closed) Thoughts on this idea … ?

I am doing aubergine, too!  I think… we’re still quite a ways away from our wedding (19 months today, in fact), so it’ll probably change.  Just out of curiosity–where are your augergine Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from?  Do you have any pictures?

I love the idea of using purples and pinks for your bouquet–I think that’ll be so pretty and really tie in the BMs.  I am having a more difficult time imagining the white against the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, but that’s only because I have a difficult time imagining color concepts (I am more analytical than creative).  After getting some feedback on here, if you are still feeling unsure about the white, perhaps you could consider including just the pink flowers in the Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets that are in yours–that way you have a very large purple & pink bouquet and the BMs have coordinating smaller ones in just pink.  It seems like that would be very cohesive.

Sounds pretty–good luck!

Wow, the contrast between purple/dark pink bouquet and white dress sounds like it will be BEAUTIFUL!  It almost makes me wish I had picked those as our wedding colors!  I say go for it!  I’ll post any pictures if I find something similar!

I know I personally prefer to have a contrasting flower against my dress, rather than white. I think white flowers would nicely tie their ensemble in with yours, while also contrasting well with their dresses.

Go for it!

Soooooooooo pretty!  Okay, our colors are emerald green, gold, and ivory.  I had planned to just carry a bouquet of ivory flowers, but now I am so in love with the idea of carrying a contrasting bouquet and having the bridesmaids carry white flowers.  *sigh* If only I hadn’t fallen in love with emerald green 4 months ago!  Oh well, maybe I can ask my florist to put a little more greenery in my bouquet to make it stand out more than a 100% ivory bouquet.

Aww, thanks!  My avatar is actually our cake topper!  I had been searching for a simple cake topper for weeks, and when I saw that one online I literally started tearing up!  (I am such a sap!)  I was a little nervous about ordering it because the website where I found it looked kind of suspect and had not great reviews.  I couldn’t find it anywhere else though, so I went ahead and ordered it, and I am so glad I did!  It arrived quickly, well packaged, and in perfect condition!  Plus, it was super-inexpensive for how nice it is!  Here is where I found it:

I have a similar idea because I’ve always thought it would be funny to have a mostly white bouquet that won’t have much contrast against my dress so I’ve been planning on having a yellow bouquet and then having the BMs (who are wearing a buttery yellow) have white bouquets!

Former Bee Ms. Creampuff did colored flowers for her and white bouquets for the BMs, and it’s one of my all time favorite looks.  Check out the pictures on her website – the flowers were incredible.  I think this is a great idea, and that the colors you suggested would look great against a white dress.

I think that sounds beautiful! And I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your BMs carrying white flowers. I was in a wedding in which the BMs did (I was five at the time — I was the flower girl, heeheehee).
