You’ll already be there, ask for a test. You’ll feel so much better knowing for sure.

@kwill2012: Thanks for the reply =) I think part of my debate is trying not to get excited lol. Also, I don’t want to keep debating the possibility with hubby and then get him disappointed.
Edit: Anyone else? Anyone have some relatable stories? Insights? I feel a little silly obsessing over the idea the day before but what can you do lol.

She may just have you take another urine test in the office, since those are generally considered just as accurate as a blood test and it’s been 5 days since you took one. What I’m confused about is that you said you consciously had sex on one of your ovulation days. When you’re on birth control you shouldn’t be ovulating at all, that’s how it works. If you missed several pills in a row, then you may have ovulated, but that’s not the norm.

@kiddosc: Well I guess what I meant was that I used a calculator after I missed my period to see when ideally I would be ovulating and it was the day we had sex. I’d also missed about 2 pills before that. But you’re right now that I think about that. I guess I figured that if people could get pregnant because they missed one, then there was the possibility if I had missed two. Thanks for your reply!!

@Arya: I don’t understand. Are you hoping you are KU? If so, why are you on BCP? Continuing to take BCP if you think you might be KU is pretty dangerous. It also seems like you *did* get AF, it was just different than normal (which can completely be accounted for my the missed pills – messing with your BCP will delay AF and can change your flow). Technically, you are past your period now, why don’t you take an HPT with FMU tomorrow before your doctor’s appointment? If it is +, then you know what to do. If it is negative, then there is almost zero chance that you are KU – HPTs are pretty good, and very accurate several days after a “missed” period. If you are still confused, talk to your doctor and see what he/she recommends.
Edited to respond to O question – there is no such thing as a calculator that can determine when you O. Those calculators are based on a 28-day cycle, which most women don’t have. The only way to *know* when you O is to chart (although OPKs are generally fairly accurate at predicting O). It is entirely possible to get KU while on BCP if you skip pills, but there is no calculator that can tell you when that would be – everyone’s bodies respond to BCP hormones differently (some women experience enhanced fertility right after coming off BCP; some women have months of anovulatory cycles after BCP).

I think your period is different this month due to not takin a couple of pills, which are hormones. So basically this month you messed with your body’s hormone levels a little bit. I highly doubt you are pregnant especially since you did get your period, even though it way lighter than usual, it was still a period. You can ask you doctor for a test since you will be there just to put your mind at ease.
Morning sickness is unlike any type of nausea you have ever experienced. I remember thinking I could be pg before since I would get waves a nausea before my period but now that I have m/s I know that it’s nothing like regular sickness. Also, your morning sickness and back aches probably wouldn’t start that early.
Good luck.

@septcabride: I am not sure what the acronym KU means but I was not actively trying to conceive. Thank you though for the information on calculating my ovulation days.
@roxy821: Thank you for your reply. I am probably just overthinking because my husband and I have recently discussed wanting to conceive. =)

@Arya: KU = “knocked up” = pregnant.
I hope that you get the answer you want.

@septcabride: Thank you! I am a little new to this whole thing. I’ve got BFN, BFP , and TTC down lol. You are probably right. I guess I was just hoping to have a surprise baby. My outside circumstances are probably going to make TTC difficult, at least planning wise.

@Arya: Glad to help! I think there used to be a TTC acronym thread, but I haven’t see it in a while. Some other good ones: KTFU (knocked the f up), BCP (birth control pills), HPT (home preg test), OPK (ovulation predictor kit, a test), O (ovulation), EWCM (fertile cerv mucus)… and that’s before you even get into ART (assisted repro technology) – it’s a world of fun getting these all down.
