Here is the dilemma.. I’ve tried on dresses multiple times and have come down to two dresses. The first is form fitting and gorgeous and the second is princess-y and fun. The first would be perfect for the ceremon and the train is gorgeous, but I hate how it looks bustled. The second dress looks the best bustled, and would be perfect for the reception.
My fiancé was gracious enough to tell me to buy both since both combined are within budget.
However I worry about being that girl with two dresses, and spending more money than necessary on one day. Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea of both, and have been agonizing over which one to pick for awhile. When I looked for other dresses it came back to these two, and with the wedding seven months away I need to order now. So hive the question is – is ordering two dresses reasonable or crazy?

Personally, I don’t like the idea of two dresses. However you said both would be within your budget so if you really can’t decide and are willing to change dresses for the reception then go for it! It’s your day and you should be happy with the dress or dresses that you love!

Crazy? No. Reasonable? Eh. I know pictures are so overdone (lol), but that would help me here. If the second dress is simple, then I think it could work. If both are full on wedding dresses, then maybe not so much.

Do you have a picture of the dresses?

I’m not going to judge anyone that does it. If you say it’s within your budget for a dress and really want two that’s totally fine. Personally, I wouldnt cause I do think that the second dress is a waste of money (for me). I’m too cheap for that. Well, it also depends on how much the dresses are running.. .if we’re talking $50-100 for a reception dress, sure why not. If we’re talking another 500+ gown.. no way.

I thought about having two dresses also. But then my Maid/Matron of Honor said this to me ” your wedding dress should be a dress that you absolutely love and don’t want to take off”. For me this made since, I knew I would find a dress I was obsessed with and the ceremony just wouldn’t be long enough for me to wear it, I would want to wear it all night 🙂
But now I have dress regret so what do I know haha.

This is not reasonable in my book. I would not necessarily say its crazy either though. But def leaning more toward crazy. Personally a second dress is a waste of money FOR ME. What kind of wedding are you having? Is it a really nice, black tie? If it is a black tie wedding and very fancy than I think its totally fine. However, if I went to an afternoon wedding or a non black tie event – I would think it was a little ridiculous. However, that is only my opinion…..

I love dress two! I don’t think that having two dresses is crazy, but could you put the money somewhere else? I just think it’s not necessary to spend money on a dress that you are going to wear for one hour or less, and then change. That’s just my opinion…you have to do what makes you happy!

The wedding would go from 2-12, IF I did both dresses the first would be for the wedding and pictures, the second would be worn at the start of the reception (and probably some more photos at sunset).
If I didn’t get two… which one would you pick?
