Hover over the link on the google search page, on the right you will see a couple of arrow things show up, hover over them and then even further to the right the cached page will show up.

@T-Rex  YES! +1 for Ron Swanson. LOVE that episode (and moment when he trashes the computer after learning about cookies!)

it really is creepy how much Google knows! That and I’ve learned (since you can’t delete) to be a little more careful now than when I first joined here. I actually recognized someone else posting here that I knew IRL. It wouldn’t have been bad at all if she “found me out” because she was just a brief acquaintance, but it did make me think about all the potential people who could be recognizing my posts!

@hisgoosiegirl  I found someone I know IRL through a “post your blog” thread when I first got here. I dont think she knows who I am, but I do get a kick out of finding her here.

@hisgoosiegirl  whenever people post about things that happened to a “friend,” or ask questions on behalf of a friend, I always wonder if they’re being tricky and trying to hide their identity. 😉

@SophiaPetrillo  HAHA! that’s always so classic, ummmmmmmm so I have this “friend” who did something really embarassing – you know, I think I actually did that here once, and it really was about a friend but I am pretty sure everyone just assumed I did whatever embarassing thing it was 🙁

@MadameTussaud  Yeah. That was the downside. I’m pretty sure that girl didn’t want some person she met in college four or five times to read about her sex life or her past drug abuse. She doesn’t post about it here on the boards and I am super glad for that!

I just started a blog but I am not posting it here, and I don’t post any photos of myself on the boards– I don’t want all of my life tied together online?  I like to keep my “real life” and my WB stuff separate.  Mostly because I wouldn’t want my real-life friends finding out how much time I spend on here! I also don’t know how some girls do the WB Facebook groups? I guess I’m just an old-fart when it comes to internet-security, though!

Back to the point, though, I can understand why girls would want to delete personal information (they could wise-up and realize they don’t want that info out there for the public) but then there should be some kind of universal deleting policy.  Like “everyone who asks can delete their posts” or “only to the guidelines.”

(I’m leaning towards “only these guidelines” because I think you should just know what to not post online.  And we’d get grumpy people who had a thread go wrong and want it deleted because no one agreed with them.)

Yeah, I like my anonymity. Some people use the same nickname/handle on all their sites so if you would happen to google them, it’s like WHAM ENTIRE LIFE STORY. Not something I want happening to me!
