My daughter was a “threatened miscarriage.” She was also a “suspected chromosome abnormality” and “suspected heart defect.” She is three years old and has no chromosome abnormalities or heart defects. Some of it is just coding to justify ultrasounds or other procedures for insurance purposes.
I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, and I’m pretty sure they called this one a threatened miscarriage too. I’ve had one real miscarriage. I’ve sort of learned that you can’t really make any assumptions during this process.

oh my GOODNESS what a relief! I am so so happy to hear this! And I’m SO sorry you had to go through such a scare so needlessly! Hoping the rest of your pregnancy is nice and boring! xoxo

So happy for you! Keep those positive vibes and stick with this doctor or find another one that you trust. I’m pregnant too so I know that it is nerve wracking to get these types of updates that leave you with more questions than answers. I remind myself that I am a mom now even if the baby isn’t born yet, so trust your instincts moma!

That’s amazing bee! I thought a heart rate of 100 at six weeks sounded perfectly normal, but didn’t know what the “fetal pole was super low” part meant so didn’t comment originally. Sounds like a load of horse shit! I’m so happy you advocated for yourself and found a new doctor…having a provider you can trust and who has a good bedside manner is so important during pregnancy!
