@September29:  It was nothing like The Departed. Probably equally disturbing but in a much different sense.

Haven’t seen it but my husband wants to see it. I hate Leonardo DiCaprio so I probably wouldn’t like it anyway.

I agree! It was a waste of 3 hours. Like the first Hobbit movie (snooze fest).

Wolf of Wallstreet had a dragging plot in between boobs, drugs, and fraud.

@Billsgirl:  do you live somewhere very conservative? I saw it at 2pm in a packed theater and nobody left…

@Billsgirl:  well, maybe its because im from NYC, but the theatre was clapping at the end. There is nothing us New Yorkers find offensive.

Martin Scorsese is knowns for pushing limits, and he went beyond that. If you don’t typically watch movies like that, then I could see how you would think its offensive.

I really didn’t have a desire to see it.  I’m just sick of the ridiculous tax incentives the movies get for being filmed in different states, but yet the “stars” still get massive bucks, well except for Jonah Hill who took a measly 60k.

I wasn’t offended or disturbed but I was bored. Maybe I just didn’t get the point but honestly  I just found all the swearing, vulgarity and drugs overshadowed a lot of the sustantial parts of the movie and half the time they were swearing so much they weren’t saying ANYTHING. Fiance read the book and really liked it but didn’t like the movie and neither of us are offended by much, especially not Fiance. We just both looked at eachother at one point and said “this is boring”. I mean, really, I get that he was reeeeally high but did the scene of him dragging his body to his car need to be SO long?! I really can’t pin point why I didn’t like it but the storyline was cool, what Jordan did with that company was pretty badass. So in keeping with the thread topic: was I offended or disturbed? No. To me though all the drugs, sex and swearing came accross as cheap entertainment even though some parts were great, my overall opinion is “meh”
