I’ve been collecting vases for about 3 months and I’m starting to accumulate quite the collection. On average I’m paying about .50 per milk glass and 1-2 for all the other vases. Going thrift store shopping weekly to hunt vases and candy buffet jars has been my favorite part of wedding planning!!
Here’s an inspiration picture that started it all:
and here’s my collection so far:
I have about 25 milk glass pieces, 20 pieces of cobalt glass, and 6 yellow vases (they have been the hardest to find.) I’m also quite thankful to have a root cellar in my basement it’s absolutely perfect for organizing wedding stuff!! Anyone else collect thrift store items for their wedding?

I did a huge part of my wedding from thrift stores too. I did a mixture of milk glass bowls and silver bowls. I had tons of compliments on them.
I can’t wait to see your recaps and how they all look. You’ve picked up some really nice pieces!

@MrsKA2014: Awesome 🙂
All of my decor was collected from thrift stores and garage sales!

I did that, too. Clear vases and we also did mismatched china. No small task for 120 guests, but it turned out great!

These are great. I love thrifting and I have already started collecting jars for a “candy bar.” My centerpieces aren’t technically thrifted, but reused from my Sweet 16.
ETA: also, I plan on using some decor that my sister didn’t end up using for her wedding

Our wedding was furnished by Craigslist and Dollar Tree!
Our 2′ tall vases were almost free on CL, and we got our Flower Girl petals/program table petals/picture frames from Dollar Tree!

- Wedding: April 2013 - A court...
Wow what a collection! Can’t wait to see it all together! Dh & I are already married but we only did a court wedding & a small dinner at my parents. If we decide to do something else (vow renewal/ church wedding) well definitely be going the thrift store way!

@MrsKA2014: I love love love the pieces you picked up!!! Your wedding is going to be just gorgeous! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together!!
My mom and I started collecting milk glass shortly after I got engaged because my Maid/Matron of Honor said she wanted to use it for the shower. Over the months we’ve got about 25 pieces of assorted milk glass for her. I recently decided I wanted some candles along with the centerpieces and started collected crystal candlestick holders of all sizes. It’s actually fun, it’s like a ridiculously satisfying scavenger hunt haha.

@EmilyJoy: Well said….it is like a ridiculously satisifying scavenger hunt. It’s so addicting!! My fiance keeps asking if I’m done because he thinks I’ve collected way more than we need.
@lovelee1: I’m struggling to find candy bar pieces. We’ve had the best luck with buying at Michaels with a 50% off coupon. Are you having any luck?
@Tess63110: We thought about doing the non-matching China but that seems like a ton of work. Your wedding looks beautiful!!

@MrsKA2014: I am. I honestly have enough for a smaller candy bar, but I plan on getting more. I go to a few different thrift shops and I check back every so often. Honestly, it is a game of chance though, sometimes you find what you’re looking for, and sometimes you don’t.
