We’re doing a lavender toss…in scrapbook paper cones, lol. That was going to be my suggestion, but you’ve considered it. Our wedding is in a Victorian house and has a very vintage feel, so the patterns in the paper fit the theme. We’re displaying them in baskets. Most of the paper I used was between 59-79 cents, and a lot of it was 50% off during one of Hobby Lobby’s many weekly sales. I got the baskets there as well, also at 50% off.

If that isn’t the direction you’d like to go, I think it’s pretty easy to find organza or muslin bags to put your chosen tossing material in. Good luck!

We are making our programs on flat paper bags [like the gourmet bags], we’ll print our program, fill with flower petals, and seal it with either a sticker or a tie. Two birds with one stone!

We did a birdseed toss at ours, and I just cut squares of gauzy material in my colors, used an ice-cream scoop to add a scoop of birdseed to the centre, then gathered up the material and tied with a ribbon around it…like a pouch. Then I just added little tags to them saying “For the lovebirds”. We put one on each seat for the ceremony, and for the most part everyone figured it out. The only exception that I know of was my grandma who has alzheimers. She asked very loudly in the middle of the ceremony…. what she was supposed to do with it, so I started laughing and told her it was to throw as we walked up the aisle, so she literally lobbed the bundle at me (without opening it), it hit my back and slid down the skirt of my dress. A better idea might have been to put them in a basket with an explanation for what they were somewhere near them.

@ashleyk_xox:

So cute!!  Was your scrapbook paper originally a square shape? I’ve been trying to roll cones with 6 inch square paper and they never line up right. Maybe I’m just cone challenged!
