My fiance and I had talked and he said well maybe this summer, as in July/August.  I knew he had been saving but didn’t think there was any way he had close to enough money for a ring.  But he proposed in May and I was so surprised and excited.

You might get more responses in the proposal board.  Asking this in the waiting board, I think we’re all secretly hoping that we’re not engaged yet because our men are throwing us off their trail!! haha.

We were long distance when he proposed.  I had assumed it was going to happen on his next visit to Cali.  He wanted to surprise me though.  Three weeks prior to his visit to see me I went to visit my sister in NYC.  He schemed with my sister for a few months and TOTALLY surprised me.  I was walking through snow covered Central Park with my sister and brother in law going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art… or so I thought.  We were almost at the Met and suddenly there he was and he proposed right then and there.  TOTAL surprise.  However, had it happened on his visit when I thought it was going to happen I would have been totally happy with that as well.

He kind of did.  I knew he was saving for a ring, and we had known for a while that we wanted to get married.  The goal was to get engaged last fall-ish.  However, he ended up telling me that he wasn’t able to save enough money, and so it wouldn’t happen until this year.

…And then he proposed on December 26th of last year.  So exciting.  😀

I kind of wish he hadn’t thrown me off so much, though, since I definitely had a few breakdowns once I thought it wouldn’t happen for another four or five months.

Yep – he did!  He told me that we would probably get engaged in 6-8 months.  So I was totally not expecting it when he proposed a month later!

I knew he had the ring… but he waited for over a year  so that i would have no idea of the WHEN. then he told me that he had to take his sister to the doctors… he really went to ask my parents for permission.  Then he asked me if i wanted to go hang out after work one night ( this is common if i work during the day and he has the day off all together and vice versa)… So I had no idea. 🙂

We had gone ring shopping just the week before and I picked out 3 different rings for him to “pick” from. One day the next week, I called and he sounded “caught”… come to find out he was picking the stone and buying the ring at that moment. One week after we went shopping, we went on vacation to Denver. Once we were up in Breckenridge, he proposed. So, I knew it was coming but wasn’t sure how soon. I think it’d be closer to Christmas since my parents were coming. He did good. Laughing
