We’re settling into married life, back from the honeymoon and photos are in. Time for a recap!
Our day was imperfectly perfect. DH was a bit hungover (better by the 4pm ceremony though!) but I was relaxed waking up and throughout the day. My planner/makeup artist Savannah Torres was absolutely amazing. She’s calm, collected, hilarious and very much on top of things. Exactly what you need when you need when you’re getting nervous.
Flowers, jewellery and the like are not my top priority. As in, I got my necklace and earrings 5 hours before the wedding as we were running by a Wal-mart and I basically told Savannah (wedding planner) to surprise me with my bouquet. No joke! But I still somehow got some great detail shots:
I have to admit, ome of the most stunning detail shots was actually of my (much more organized) husband’s uniform.
Getting ready was terrifying. I hadn’t actually worn my dress in months. My final fitting was several months before I moved across North America to start my life with my favorite person. I put on a good face, but there was definitely some nervous laughter. Luckily, it fit!
The best part of a wedding planner also being your makeup artist: pre wedding touchups!
I saw DH before the wedding. Well before the wedding, actually since he had to escort us on the Navy base where the wedding was held. Even though he saw my hair had hadn’t seen me in makeup or my dress, so we still did a first look:
(…I poked him. My trademark way of getting his attention)
Photos of us:
My mom made the cake and cupcakes! She did a seriously amazing job. It was a huge hit:
Whew. That’s a lot of photos. Thanks for looking!

I love that first look photo of you poking him – totally captures your personalities, you look silly and devious and he looks like he’s thinking “ahhh, yep, that’s my girl”.

I forgot to add this one earlier. It’s pretty special:
This is DH’s grandpa. He quietly said “My first granddaughter” as I hugged him. Cue the ugly cry! I love that man.
