Does anyone have any good recommendations for food, supplements, practices, etc to support thyroid health? I’ve been having a few issues with hormone balance and now a thyroid cyst (benign as far as I know). Levels test out normal on blood tests so there’s nothing glaringly wrong. I’d like to help my body out the best I can without medicine but I don’t want to just jump in blind. Any personal accounts of things that actually helped would be great.

lifesgood : I’d see an endocrinologist as they will run a more comprehensive thyroid panel (including antibody tests) and will know how to better treat whatever issue you may have. I was diagnosed with hasimoto’s and did my own research as well as seeing my endocrinologist. Going gluten free has shown to be helpful for people with thyroid disorders, as well as making sure zinc/selenium/iron levels are all where they should be.
Also, you may want to look into the AIP diet and seeing if there are any foods you may have sensitivities to which you should eliminate from your diet as they may cause inflammation within your body.

feedthebeags : Thank you. I checked with the dr and they said at this point an endo isn’t necessary since it’s very tiny and poses no harm. I’ve read a bit about diet suggestions but the thyroid is so delicate! I don’t have symptoms one way or another for overactive or underactive..I just want to keep it healthy in general. 🙂
