gelaine22:  I know :/ It’s a theme. At this rate she won’t ever be having sex with him, because it sounds like he would rather it rot and fall off than see a doctor. I mean, “it’s getting better already!”

CorvusCorax:  Please don’t mistake my calling you out on your biased statement of “having no respect for Drs” as a personal vendetta against you. Not the case. I responded the way I did because I have a real problem with someone who generalizes people/caregivers in the manner that you did. So, don’t give yourself too much credit for whatever you did “two weeks ago” (which I honestly have no recollection of, to be totally honest).

Next… Never did I even bring up the healthcare system as a whole. I happen to agree that our healthcare system is broken. I was calling you out on saying you have “little respect for Drs”. If you are generalizing and blaming the MDs themselves for the current state of our healthcare system here, you are sadly misinformed and should do some research.

PoliticallyIncorrect:  You seem to remember that I was a stripper at one point, which was something that got brought up two weeks ago. For whatever reason, that stuck with you (unless you just now decided to go sifting through my post history.) *shrug*

I have done research on it, and the doctors themselves are a major part of the issue.

mudgirl420:  I’m sorry you are taking all of my comments so seriously. You are right in that I missed your update. I guess I am just tired of people trying to use this site as WebMD.

mudgirl420:  didnt think this would turn into a back and forth either when i first read the initial post, but hey, it happens.

I think that he should get it checked out like PP stated which it seems like he was willing to do after discovering the bump and swelling. Just make sure you support him and tell him that you will be with him every step of the way and that its just to make sure the tick bite didnt cause any serious damage, my guy is a little uneasy about the doctor as most men are. Its totally normal.  I also second the idea of you all not having sexual contact until he gets checked out.

I don’t know about you OP, but I would tell him that “I AIN”T TOUCHING THAT WITH A TEN FOOT POLE UNTIL YOU GO TO THE DOCTOR”. You can pleasure yourself, if necessary, to avoid becoming cranky. If what you state is true, after another day or two he will be heading to the doctor. You can’t force him to do anything, and the same is true for you.

Either that or I would make him an appointment, tell him we are going to dinner, and drive right up to the freaking doctor and tell him that if ever wants me to do those special things that he likes, he better get in there! Best of luck…

I bet when he pulled the tick out, a leg or two didn’t get removed. He needs to go to the doctor now that it’s infected.

If the tick head is still in there it can cause his system to go septic…. if that’s the case then best case scenario is he has to spend a few days in the hospital… worst case scenario is he would have to get a blood transfusion to get the rotted blood out of him…. worst worst case scenario (if he lets it go too long) is the infection reaches his organs and he dies. If he survives he could get lyme disease which causes a whole mess of other problems (including but not limited to innability to have children). MAKE HIM GO TO THE DOCTOR.

Get both yourselves tested for Lyme ASAP. A tick bite on his penis and he wants to ride it out?  Sounds funky…aren’t most guys super protective of their junk?  In all seriousness, Lyme disease is very treatable if caught early on but I have two friends with chronic late stage Lyme and they’re going through hell trying to get healthy. Get yourselves to the doctor and get some damned antibiotics!
