Well Ladies, I did it, I made the big switch. Please show me your rings to tide me over. It should be ready tomorrow but I am starting to get butterflies and need some distractions so please me yours? Any and all welcome 🙂 Below will be a little back history for those who want to read but do not feel the need to I just have to get some of this off my chest.
Originally I had a VERY LONG story typed up, but I decided not to bore you all. Long story very short, I went berserk for a while and I was on a hunt for a 2 carat and I tried to work my way up, compromising on quality. I decided right before I got my pear to completely revamp my mindset and drop the size (I have champagne taste on a beer budget) obsession and focus on quality. I originally went in looking for a smaller higher quality round and when they didn’t have anything for me at that exact moment, I got side tracked by a pear halo ring he had in counter and it led me to my gorgeous pear. I love my pear. I really do. I definitely went up in quality and down in size. Which I was totally fine with. HOWEVER, a couple of things are happening. The prong is pretty sharp, I really had my heart set on a halo, and then a couple other little things not worth mentioning, but ultimately it didn’t look right on my hand and it was scratching the kids and ruining my clothes LOL. I actually had stopped wearing it at home and since I am a stay at home mom I basically never wore it and admittedly it had me depressed. Thank you all for helping me and being so kind. I am so excited for tomorrow, but I am a little nervous too. Here is the stone I am getting it is just quickly set in solitaire so I could wear it for a few days. I will create a new post tomorrow or Friday when I have the final product. It is a 1.07 carat, H color, SI2 (it has a white inclusion on the edge), I made it a point to say I wanted an excellent cut, and is sparkles like crazy. Which is ultimately the only thing I wanted. All I ever wanted was a sparkly diamond. I just got hung up with going up in carat size. So over all I am very happy and satisfied with the specs.
Anyway, here she is. I cant wait, I am finally getting more and more excited.

Congrats! Only a few more days! The bigger doesn’t always mean better realization is crucial. I had the same realization. Here’s mine! It’s a .75 cushion cut with sapphire halo and a matching alternating diamond and sapphire eternity wedding band.

I think, in all honesty, I’m going to miss your pear diamond more than you are! Oh my, that stone. I have a serious crush on it. Your previous pictures of that diamond are just ah-mazing. I’m finding I’m a bit sad……..
However!!! I’m also happy for you. Are you having it set into a halo? Your new baby is so pretty! I can’t wait to see her!

arriaza415 : Very beautiful and sooo classic, love it.
emmalicious : So beautiful! you already know I love your stone! It is stunning!
khurm : Thank you love, yes it has been a crazy journey lol. I love your ring. I love sapphires. I am not sure I have ever seen a sapphire halo! That is gorgeous!
20sparklingyears : Oh my love, I know. Trust me I went back and forth for a long time with this. I love the pear. I think if I had done the halo from the beginning maybe all the resentment wouldn’t have built up? It wouldn’t be as pointy, it would be more of what I wanted from the beginning, it would have been all around more suitable to what I had in mind when first considering a pear. I has sworn off alternative shapes after my marquise not because I don’t like them, but because they don’t look right on my finger, so I went against a rule I had already had in place LOL. But I loved that pear, It just wasn’t me and when it started really scratching the kiddos (almost made my son bleed) and snagged clothing I decided once and for all I wanted to be back in a round but I wanted a decent one. I am just so happy my jeweler, who is a Godsend already as is, was able to find this for me. Thank you for your kind words. I will definitely share her when I get her tomorrow or Friday. No I am not doing a halo the only halo I would love to have is the darn pear halo, and it was going to cost me about a grand and I just didn’t want to do that. Plus what if I did and I still didn’t like it on my hand when I already know rounds suit me better. Trust me I was soooo torn. So I am having the new round put on my same setting.

I feel ya! I had a pear (actually THIS PEAR: http://www.loveaffairdiamonds.com/1-55ct-pear-cut-diamond-gia-e-si1/) but it wasn’t in the best setting or look for me and ultimately I had it taken out and decided to put it up for consignment. It’s a gorgeous stone, but I fell in love with old cuts and ended up with a vintage cut cushion.

I am excited for you to get your round! I hope sooner rather than later. Enjoy it!

Congratulations, but that pear was set improperly. The point sticks out and it’s way too long.
