my fiance is getting his suit altered today so i told him to bring his white silk tie with him to see the whole thing together. apparently as soon as he left the house, he dropped it in the parking lot and it’s “covered in dirt” (his words..). anyway, he texted me to “ask weddingbee how to clean a silk tie.” any ideas?
ps. i think it’s adorable he told me to ask weddingbee.

hmm, I would turn to Google on this one if I were you. 🙂 Is it more than he can just brush off I take it?
Not much will help a spot on a beautiful silk tie, but should you happen to get a spot on your tie, simply dip a clean cloth napkin in a little seltzer or club soda and then dab away what you can.
For anything greasy, sprinkle a little talcum powder on the spot as soon as possible and allow it to absorb what it can.
After a few hours, brush off the remaining residue with a clean soft cloth.

I think it’s adorable too!
I asked Google what she thought, and here’s what she had to say:
Basically, use a white paper town and a small dab of stain remover… and blot!

so funny–we had a wedding conundrum we were talking through late last night and Fiance suggested we “take it to weddingbee.” it cracked me up. i was too lazy to get out of bed though and get on the computer so we had to solve it on our own.
