Hello! So my wedding is going to be a very casual outdoor wedding. My fiance is wearing khaki pants with a white shirt, a navy blue coat, and a clover green pocket square to match the other color. He doesn’t want to wear a tie, which is fine by me. The GMs are wearing khaki pants with white shirts but no jackets. I would like to incorporate navy blue into the GMs’ outfits somehow and was thinking about doing navy blue ties for them. Would it look weird for them to have ties but not the groom? The other option is to do navy blue pocket squares, but it would have to go in their shirts, and I am not sure how appropriate that is. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I think no tie for them. Could you maybe do like a navy belt? or is that weird??

@TiffanyMM: Could you do navy blue woven belts for the groomsmen? It could also be their groomsan gift. Something like this maybe:
You could maybe even get them in navy with a green accent.

How about having the groomsmen wear navy suspendors?

What about a navy pocket sqaure? Or would that be too pocket protector like?

I like the pocket square idea 🙂

I wouldn’t have the groomsmen in ties when the groom isn’t wearing one. They are two different levels of formality.
I think pocket squares in a shirt pocket would look a bit odd as they are meant for jacket pockets.
The groomsmen could wear navy vests.
Or, you could incorporate navy in the boutonnieres if they are having them.

@DeathByDesign: Yes, please! I for one am a lover of suspenders.

@KatNYC2011: I like that a lot! They have to wear belts, so this is really creative!
@DeathByDesign: That is very cool too! I never even though about suspenders, but they look great!
Thanks, ladies! I always get great suggestions!
