the same judgments go on in real life as well .people are just less likely to say it out loud! likely they’ll just say it to others just not to the person’s face!!

@yehyehgirl:  What are you going on about? I’m talking about diamond stats. A hunk of carbon that is D color VVS2 is going to be the same no matter where you buy it. Tiffany doesn’t own the market on “better quality diamonds.” There are plenty of places to buy conflict free stones without a 300% markup, but if the Tiffany name is a priority it isn’t my business. Get what you want.

Well to be fair, few people in real life are running around saying LOOK AT MY TIFFANY RING and few people outside of the Bees can spot a Tiffany ring or tell a Moissy from a diamond from a CZ. In real life, no one cares what’s on your finger, who designed it or how much it cost, and the people sporting those designer goodies are usually not flashing them around (unless they have shitty manners, in which case I’m gonna judge them). Too bad the Internet isn’t the same way, on both sides.

@housebee:  much different situations. Many If not most (not all )people with simulants  want others to believe it’s a diamond.so of course they may avoid mentioning what it really is. Tiffany on the other hand is coveted so it would be silly to have to avoid mentioning it’s Tiffany. Ridiculous!people say jealousy is overdone on this board but the hate comes outwhen it’s someone with a large diamonds or a Tiffany ring  people come out of the woodwork to hate on itsometimes if you know who the poster is you know what they’re wearing on Their hand and you have to shake your head.

@gemgirl6:  Hate over rings? Surely a topic you know nothing about.

I wish I could have enough disposable income to pay for a Tiffany ring. I don’t think it is a waste because it is something you wanted and will appreciate.

I am the type of person who before I speed money on something over $100, I think of all the things I could have bought.

If an opinion is asked about this ring or that ring then people are going to express other options and opinions … After all, an opinion was asked. Tiffany has done a really great job at marketing itself and so there is some sort of attachment to that brand. I do admit to expressing my opinion that if it is the Tiffany solitaire that one could find something at equal or better quality for less money. That is my opinion. Once someone has a ring I find it very improper to make such comments. At the end of the day I really don’t care if your ring is a daimond or moissanite, gold or platinum, Cartier or from the little machine that spits out rings for a buck, as long as you are happy. I would never personally be comfortable wearing something that cost that much on my finger, but that’s me. Just don’t expect all answers to be exactly what you want on an internet forum: it is the wild, wild west after all.

@wntrwhte:  I guess you’re right on the spot on the aspirational part. And I guess I even said it myself : we could afford it but those are not our priorities. A lot of people DO make it a priority in their personal finances. Touche. 😀

@gemgirl6:  I was just commenting on the general tendancy for people to be more judgemental on the internet vs in person.  I guess I’m not on the ring boards enough to notice what you’re mentioning though.

My problem with Tiffany’s is I havent seen them offer anything that I havent seen elsewhere at a much lower price.

For example if I see someone post their very simple solitaire in a plain platinum setting.. I just don’t get it. Why pay so much more for something so available

Why would anyone care about this one way or the other?  What a waste of emotion.
