  • poll: would you wear a plain "Tiffany" style solitaire with no band after marriage?

    Yes, in fact I do.

No, never! That is a horrible idea. A band is a must.

    indifferent... maybe so, maybe no.

Its fine but looks kinda strange.

Have you tried a plain band? I thought I wanted a diamond band but found I preferred the plain with  my solitaire. I have a diamond eternity I wear with my rhr and like you, I think it detracts from the diamond of my engagement ring if I try it with that.

your rings look way too small, should be sized up.

i agree a plain band may give a more cohesive look.

i splurged on diamond earrings once, and ended up giving them to my mom. and got myself some moissanite studs that were just a tad bigger that i liked even more haha.

I voted indifferent  – I wanted to vote no but not because it is a horrible idea, it still looks like an engagement ring, not a wedding band.  So it still looks like you are engaged!!!  Beautiful ring!!!

tbenjamin4884 :  I wore no band after my first wedding.  My engagement ring had a rather thick band and my fingers are  short and tapering.  There was just no room for a band and it wasn’t a priority for either of us.  If you will get more wear out of earrings then go ahead and trade your band in.

happyroo :  Exactly. I only wear one ring because I don’t like how wearing two feels on my finger. Occasionally people assume that I’m engaged but not married and I just say, “Oh, I’m actually married, I just don’t like wearing two rings.” It’s really not a big problem in my life. *Grin*

I say wear what pleases you. If you feel the diamond band takes away but you still want to look married try a very slim plain band. They have some great selections on eweddingbands.com and I also would recommend deb blazer on etsy. If that works for you or wearing your solitaire alone works for you then I would say take a go on the trade for the studs if you would get a ton of use out of them. I have numerous rings, solitaire and halo and i wear them with or without a band as I please. I don’t think one or the other I more married.  The marriage is in the heart and rings are just a symbol of the bond. So I say do you and keep us posted!

Aesthetically I like the look of a single ring, but I’m not comfortable wearing that because I know people would wonder why I wasn’t wearing a wedding band.

If you don’t love the band and want the studs, I say get them! There are a lot of beautiful gold bands out there that would not only be affordable but also might complement your solitaire better than the diamond band. I wear a plain gold wedding band for that reason ๐Ÿ™‚
