@stillme: Dude, that is crazy. I am definitely anti-posting-the-ring on FB. Buuut, I have to admit that I like looking at people’s rings when they do post them, so what does that say about me? ๐Ÿ˜‰

It says that you’re my hypocritical TWIN!  Hahaha!  I totally do the same thing!

@KatNYC2011: I agree 110%

@Treasure43: You must be much nicer than me.. because when people start bragging my nose gets scrunched up and it’s all down hill..  Hahaha.  ๐Ÿ™‚

My advise to you and others will be…

Just make sure you do your homework and get it from a reputable jewler.

You know you will get the top quality in both diamond and workmanship from a superior jewler than others.

@Lucky in love: My ring is a replica of the Tiffany Legacy. If the boy had bought the same ring at Tiffanys with the same carat weight it would have been quadruple of what he paid (literally). I LOVE Tiffanys, and have been drooling over this ring since I was a little girl…but knowing that he bought a quality ring and will not be in dept for the rest of his life makes me really happy ๐Ÿ™‚

PS I just read through this post more carefully. Fiance bought my ring from a good friend of his who is a diamond jeweler. The diamonds are GIA certified. Also, it is not an exact replica: ie it is round, not cushion, 14 ct WG not platinum. I had showed him pictures of what I liked, but never really talked about Tiffanys. It was a total surprise that I ended up with a ring with as much detail as the Legacy. I love my ring no matter what because I love the boy who gave it to me.

I never even thought of looking at a Tiffany ring.  When i hear someone talking about Tiffany’s…i think of the movie, breakfast at tiffanys, not the jewelry store.  But I do have a question…other than the name ‘Tiffany’  what makes their diamonds so much more special that the ones at Jared or Kays (only examples)?

In the end, it’s your decision.  What ever you want & will be happy with is what you should pick.  Sounds to me like you are leaning more to the ‘non-tiffany’ ring

@Meshka: If the GIA ratings are and cut the same, there really is no difference between a Tiffany Diamond, a Kay’s Diamond, an Independent Jeweler’s Diamond, or a diamond from an online store.

@KatNYC2011:  Thanks!  I don’t know a whole lot about diamonds or stones in general but i’m learning as i go along.  To be honest, I could have cared less about diamonds until i got one.. Wink

@Meshka: it’s just a brand that’s really popular, that’s all. like Coach. yes, Tiffany’s products are good. you can also find rings that are equal in quality and get really great customer service at a lower price at other stores. so the extra money involved? you’re basically paying for the label. some people are ok with that, others would rather not.

I’m not one for brand names anyway, but consider this: being presented with the little blue box is just one moment. The ring will be with you the rest of your life; you won’t be wearing the little blue box on your hand. So go with what makes you happy to look at, and proud to wear. I agree with Treasure43. If you’re set on the little blue box, have your fiance get one off ebay, and get an absolutely beautiful dream ring to put inside it.

Hi! I’m new to the site here and was just looking at some Tiffany posts to see what others think about it. Honestly, I was never a jewelry girl. I didn’t even know about Tiffany until I meet my fiance. I didn’t even really want or need a ring. If he would have given me a sterling silver band, I’d still cherish it for the rest of my life. For me, smaller is better =) I am all for saving moolah for later down the road. The thing is, I do own a Tiffany. When I met Dave, he said that “I’ve always wanted to give the girl I’m going to marry a Tiffany’s ring”, and that’s exactly what he gave. It’s a three stone .8 total carat weight (even though I asked for a .5, which is the smallest), and to be honest with you, I am very much in love with it. And honestly, yes you are basically paying more for the name. So if you don’t care about the brand, then go with the bigger one! More for your money! I insisted that he not get anything expensive but I let him choose in the end. I don’t love my ring because it’s a Tiffany. I love it because he gave it to me. So it’s up to you! I’m sure whatever you decide, you’ll end up falling in love with it!

@JsDragonfly: Hi, I know I’m a little late on this but I agree with you completely with verything you said. Especially the comment about having a Tiffany ring to show off. I have a small 3 stone from Tiffany. Before I met my fiance, I didn’t really wear jewelry. Well I still don’t (only my enagement ring). But I didn’t really know much about Tiffany or anything, but he said that he’s always wanted to give the girl he’s going to marry a Tiffany’s ring. It’s not because I asked for it. I thought that was the sweetest thing even though I didn’t know much about their jewelry. I don’t tell people anything about my ring. I’ve had some people asked me where he got it because they say it sparkles so much and I would tell them it’s from Tiffany. They’d squeal over it and in my opinion it was kinda of funny to watch. And even if he had gotten me a sterling silver band, I would love it the same way, it just happens to be a Tiffany! I just hate that some people called me a spoiled brat because they know my ring is from Tiffany.

Since majority say other im going to do what I always do and say TIFFANY, like Audrey Hepburn said “its the most wonderful place on earth” and Marilyn sang “stiff back or stiff knees you stand straight at Tiffany’s” im getting cheesier with every sip of this wine, I dont know about getting a tiffany box with a different ring kinda like wanting a pizza n getting a pizza box full of fries. Tiffany will be great quality not just a name stamped on junk lol. The way I see it you could get an ering from tiff n maybe a beautiful wedding band elsewhere or ering from elsewhere and band from Tiff which is what im doing ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a Tiffany lover. SO is already looking there for me. So expensive. But so beautiful and you don’t have to worry about getting a bad quality diamond as every Tiffany diamond (and ring) is perfect.

I love Tiffany lucinda cut with or without the diamond band. I also love the Nuvo!
