I just looked up the lyrics…I guess it depends on how you interpret the lyrics.  The first line is "Lying in my bed I hear the clock tick, and think of you"  To me, that doesn’t sound father/daughter-ish.

How about James Taylor’s "How Sweet it is to be Loved By You" or "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers?  They are two of the top 10 father/daughter dance songs according to about.com.

Or are you looking for something a little different/less cliche?

Also in Time After Time, she says

"If you fall, I will catch you. I’ll be waiting…"

"If your lost, you can look, and you will find me…"

Now I’m guessing these types of lines are the ones that make you feel father -daughter like.  I could see that…. until you get married.  I feel like once you marry, you don’t turn to dad for everything.  So if he’s trying to say, "hey turn to me," it kind of sounds like, he thinks your husband might break your heart, or is a no good louse.  Sorry probably way too analytical.

Anyway, I think I could see where you’re coming from with the song..  But I think I would find a different one.
