- Wedding: July 2012
My fiance and I are getting married in a Methodist church, and we are getting ready to solidify things with the church. There’s just one question I can’t answer yet: what time to have the ceremony.
Here’s the deal: We are getting married on a Monday, so I don’t want the reception to go past 10pm, as people will likely have to work the next day. The reception venue we are currently looking at would give us 4 hours for the reception. I also know we want people to be able to go straight from ceremony to reception.
But I have never been to a religious wedding, and I have no idea how long the ceremony lasts. So I have no clue what time to schedule the ceremony for that ensures (1) no long break (max. of 45 minutes; maaaaybe an hour since the drive b/w locations is about 25-30 minutes) between ceremony and reception; and (2) everything is over by 10.
