Our wedding is in July and I’m not sure what time to have the ceremony. Ceremony and reception are in the same hotel but different rooms.
Our ceremony will be short and sweet.
Is 1:30 too early?
After the ceremony we’re going to take off to get pictures done, then head back for reception. What is a good time for speeches, dinner, dance, cutting of the cake?

I think my sister is having hers at 1:30, but she’s having a full Catholic Mass which will last a good hour and 15 minutes. The reception is about 15 minutes away and the reception hall doesn’t open until 4pm. What I have noticed is that a lot of people give give people ideas of what to do around town before the reception. There will always be some people who only go to the reception as well. You’ll just want to figure out if there is enough for them to do and what time your hall will open, etc. If they’re staying a a hotel, some people may just take a nap or unpack. So that take into consideration as well.

What time does your reception start? You need to make sure you leave enough time for pictures in between but not too long so your guests don’t get bored.

I THINK reception will start at 5:00… that’s what we told the Dj so far.

In that case i think you should make the wedding a little later so that your guests dont get bored and are waiting for a while…if its gonna be short and sweet i would make the wedding at 430 or 4 15…especially since its in the same building.

We’ll need a couple of hours for pictures though so 4:30 is way too late. I was thinking maybe 2:00 for the ceremony… that will take 30 mins (hopefully!), then the receiving line (?) will take a bit so by the time we leave the hotel to get to the picture area… that should take us to 3:00 or later. That gives us almost 2 hours for pictures… then get back to the hotel for the reception… maybe 1:30 is better? (thinking out loud)…

I’m having mine at 1. My sister and Future Sister-In-Law both had theirs at 2.
