What about a square brilliant? I’m not sure of the difference between them and princesses… I’m a rectangular person.

You could also put a different shaped diamond in a square setting…
but if you really love princesses than it shouldn’t matter what your old ring was like, just get what makes you happy.

If you’re drawn to princess, stick with a princess. (I happen to have a princess cut, so I love them too). Get what you love!

I have a princess and know others who do. I went for cut and quality vs. size and it is the smartest choice ever. My .78 carat looks like a million dollars next to their bigger rocks. It sparkles like crazy…literally blinds me sometimes. lol.

Also, I say keep the shape and switch up the setting. I chose the center stone and Fiance picked out the setting which made it even more special. You also don’t want it to look just like your old ring.

do you like cushion cuts?  they are kind of square-ish but not straight line square.

I’m biased, because I’ve always adored princess, so that’s what Fiance got me when we got engaged- a 1/2 ct princess cut solitaire with surprise diamonds. πŸ˜‰

If you like princess, go with princess! If you don’t want it to look like your first e-ring you can always change up the setting a little bit.

No reason to try and change your tastes! You could always have the princess kite set if you really want it to be different?

@Utopia4us:  Was just going to say this…my cousin has a kite set princess ering with two smaller princess diamonds surrounding it and it’s gorgeous.

I think a square radiant would be perfect for you. A nod toward what you love, but still a bit different.

I wouldnt want a smaller version of the previous ring but I am shallower than some. Id go with the same shape only if its a completely diff style ( ie three stone, halo)
