I haven’t left my ring for that long, but yesterday I was doing a volunteer project that was very physical, dirty, work and I chose to leave my e-ring at home. I don’t always wear it at home, but I always wear it when I leave the house. Even getting in the car without it felt weird, and as the day went on it felt weird not to have it as I was meeting new people. Of course, I’m glad I didn’t wear it, but my finger felt really naked.

I’m sure you’ll make it though your long time, and you’ll have a wonderful custom wedding band soon enough! Perhaps the estimate is on the long side and you’ll have it back even sooner.

I am in the eaxt same boat you are in.  I left my ring 2 weeks ago to have a custom band made.  I was shocked when the jeweler said he needed it for so long.  My wedding is in one week and I am still ringless!  Hopefully it will be worth it.

The first day I didn’t have my e-ring was SO weird.  My coworkers kept asking me where it was.  I have been wearing a James Avery ring that I have had for years on that finger.  It made me feel better to have something on it.  That is what I recommend doing. Hang in there!

My ring was lost for almost two weeks and I HATED not having it, so just think, you may not have it, but at least you know right where it is :p

I can definitely relate. Just taking it off before BED is weird, much less giving it up for weeks on end. It’s really amazing how quickly we get used to having it on!!

When I have forgotten it, I feel really naked without it.  Sorry about the ring.  We just purchased my bands today and they told me I’d have to bring it in to get sodered two weeks before the wedding (two bands, curvy, it’ll be too much movement for the wedding and honeymoon).  The first thing out of my mouth to my FH was, "I have to give up my ring?" 🙁

aww hun, I can relate!

I mean I freak out when I take my ring off to get it cleaned at the jewellers, I have this like memory loss everytime I do it, and I apparently touch and play with my ring alot, and when I go to play with it (like 2 miniutes after I have dropped the ring off) my stomach drops and I immediatly think I have lost it and freak out then remember that it’s not far….and I get it back in like 10 minutes. I dont know how I would cope with 2 weeks!

I was suppose to have a custom band made so it molded nice with my Tacori (as my ring is one of those with a weird top so regular bands dont fit it nice) but they said I would have to send my e-ring to Tacori and they would have it for 6 weeks! 6 WEEKS! I would die!

I think it’s a good idea to wear another ring or something at least something is there and you know it. I think that would ease my mind a bit – with my whole touching it and being like "ah, ok, it’s there"

Anyways.,…

Good luck, deep breaths!

@Kurlynut… once i nearly lost my ring by playing with it and it flew off my finger and nearly bounced out the car window while going thru a tunnel!!!!

the gods were smiling because it bounced back into the car and not out the window – it stopped my habit of playing with the ring by twirling it around my finger right then!

I’m so glad your ring is home safe and it’s great to hear about your wedding band!! I’m sure your Fiance will love the band .
