I think names that offer various nicknames work really well if you want timeless. That way they can use the full “classic” name, or use a more common or well-known variant depending on the era and popularity. Also, biblical names tend to be everpresent, regardless of your religion.
Girls: Anna (Annie/Anne), Elizabeth (Lizzie/Beth/Liz), Diana, Catherine (Kate/Katie/Cathy), Jane, Rachel, Sarah, Hannah, Rebecca/Rebekah (Becky/Becca)
Boys: Daniel (Dan/Danny), Ryan, Stephen (Steve), James (Jamie/Jimmy), Michael (Mike), David (Dave/Davey), Nicholas (Nick/Nicky), Joseph (Joe/Joey), Zachary (Zach), Andrew (Andy/Drew), Matthew (Matt), Luke
Boys: Joshua, Elliott, Harrison, Samuel
girls: Catherine (Cate), Millicent (Millie), Florence, Mollie, Mae, Penelope (Pip)
For me classic are things like James, Luke, George and girls Mary, Jane, Emily. They will never be unfashionable. These days every name is ok and kids are called some weird things and I think when todays children with all their strange names get older they will give their children very traditional normal names and there will be lots of James and Mary’s.
I really like; Natalie, Victoria, Elizabeth, Catherine and Edna for a girl. I find it more difficult thinking of boys names but I do like Alexander.
Girls: Elizabeth, Grace, Katherine, Marie, Emily, Emma, Anna, Charlotte, Eleanor, Evelyn
Boys: James, Henry, William, Benjamin, Charles, Andrew, Theodore
Many of these are classics that are trendy right now, so that’s something to consider if you don’t want your child to share their name with too many classmates.
I prefer classic names. I’m 16 weeks and we’re down to Margaret and Eleanor for a girl and Theodore and Lawrence for a boy.
Katherine, Caroline, Lauren, Laurel, Nicole, Anastasia, Alexandra, Hope, Abigail, Elizabeth, Grace
Nicholas, Jacob, Daniel, Phillip, Michael, Alexander, Jonathan, Andrew, Timothy
Amelia, Charlotte, Lucy.. Joshua, James
Almost all of my favorites are names I consider fairly classic. My general rule for determining if a name is “classic” is can I imagine a king or queen of England with this name, is it from a classic novel, or is it biblical? While I have a few that I still consider pretty classic that don’t follow this rule, it’s a pretty good guideline!
Girls: Katherine, Charlotte, Caroline, Alexandra, Rachel, Rebecca, Samantha, and Eva are my current favorites.
Boys: William, Elijah, Christopher, Luke/Lucas, James, Sebastian, and Anthony.
Love timeless baby names. My two neices are Charlotte Grace and Elizabeth Paige. Currently TTCing #1
Girls: Catherine (my middle name) Alice, Rose, Mary and Lily
Boys: Gabriel, Benedict, James, Harry and Michael (my fathers name)
I really like how the name Geroge sounds. But something about the spelling eh to me. I like it better when it’s spelled Jorge, but maybe that’s because I’m from South Florida 🙂
Love all of these suggestions! I think I’ll need to have 10 kids just to use all the names I love hahahaaa.
My husband and i aren’t TTC but literally picked out our future kids names like 20min ago! Lol
We like:
Tyler James Douglas
Jack William
for boys and
Haley Anne Elizabeth
Emily Marie
for girls
using some family names and some not
I love timeless/classic names! We’ll be naming our little girl Charlotte and if we ever have a boy I love the name James 🙂
