OK, so FH and I are planning on getting engagement this summer, in June or July. For some stupid reason, I thought that a one-year engagement would be ample time to plan a wedding. Now I’m realizing perhaps that I was really naive and that things are already starting to fill up? (we’re thinking Cape Cod, a very destination-y place.)
So I guess my question is, if I got engaged in June, what’s a realistic wedding date?

@memleyxx: Our date is June 21, 2014 and we were waitlisted at one venue and another one was booked. We ended up booking our venue right in the nick of time beause now it’s all booked for June. I’d look into it ASAP if you’re planning on a Saturday wedding and a popular venue. Maybe venues in your area don’t book as fast as my area, but that’s my experience.

I think that any date is fine, it’s just a matter of how well you will be able to plan in that time being. This is a really good source for what needs to be done over-all, but it goes off of the ‘average engagement time’ of 16 months.
Hope it helps!
