- Wedding: March 2009
Our wedding is at 3pm, and for the reception, we’re going for a swanky, but relaxed atmosphere with somebody playing old romantic tunes on a baby grand, lots of dancing, passed hors d’oeuvres and drinks, a candy buffet, and plenty of cake, and then we’ll wrap it up before the dinner hour.
I’m wondering how we should organize the timeline – do our first dance right away so that everyone else will dance? Then how do we transition smoothly into greeting our guests, toasts, the other important dances, cake cutting, etc. Should we have the hors d’oeuvres passed as soon as people arrive, or wait until after we’ve been introduced?
Has anybody had a similar reception with a timeline you can share?
