Okay so our ceremony is planned for 5pm and we are able to arrive at the location at 4pm.The ceremony reception and everything is being done at the same location, with everyone getting ready prior at the hotel. I will be doing final touhes and getting my dress on once we get on location at 4:00.
My question is do I have the photographer come at 4pm and take a few shots before I put on my dress then move onto the ceremony and then leave at 10pm when the reception ends?
Do I have him arrive at 3pm at the hotel and then ride to the ceremony/reception location continue taking photos from 4pm to until 9pm (an hour before reception is over)?
Any additional suggestions are welcomed!

you definitely want exit pictures! If not, get a nice camera and pick a family member to do that if its not too important to you. I made sure my photographer was there to take exit pictures on our way out. If you arrive at 4pm, he could take pictures of you and your girls at 4pm and maybe a few of the guys too.

I would do the 4-10 slot just because photographers are A LOT of money, and you want to get the most out of them that you can. With the 3-9 slot you will lose time he/she could be taking pictures on the ride to the venue! Good luck 🙂

This depends. Are you having a planned exit or is the reception just going to end at 10pm? If you’re not having a big exit you’d probably be happier having more well-rounded coverage of the pre-ceremony activities than you would with hours and hours of reception/dancing shots. Having those fun party shots is great but none of my couples ever do anything with them so I always suggest that unless they’re having an exit I need to be there to photograph they should build more time on the front end of coverage to get a more complete story of the day.
