- Wedding: April 2011
Hello Bee’s, this is my first time posting on the board so I hope someone responds (lol). First off I am already happily married but next year will be our 15th anniversary and we will be finally making it official through our church. It is so difficult because when we first got married we went thru the drive thu in Vegas and gambled the night away. I am not a big wedding kind of person, I prefer an awesome vacation. My Darling Husband on the other hand is insisting on having a huge celebration (in other words a wedding/anniversary). So here I am planning this event because I love him and understand that he wants to celebrate with all of our loved ones there.
We are both Catholic so this will be our first time doing the church thing. The problem is the ceremony is at 3pm which is the latest they allow. I was planning on having the reception start at 6pm and go to 11pm. My concern is that there is to much time between the end of the church ceremony and the start of the reception and most guest are not local. If I move the reception up to 4pm then should I just have it go until 9pm?? It seems early to end a party? What is an appropriate time frame?? Also I have a choice of doing a short 20minute ceremony or doing the full catholic service which would add 15 to 20 minutes more, is that too long? Boy this really gets complicated LOL. You would think with all the weddings we have attended that this would be easy. HELP, any ideas are welcome.
