I used to think 2-3 years. Then I took care of my son ( who was just a newbie at the time), and my nephew who was 5, and it worked out sooooo wonderfully. Seriously. I don;t necesssarily think they have to be too close in age. If there is a larger gap, the understanding of a brother sister is there, and they usually like to help out.

So if we decided to have naother/can have another, then we will most likely wait until my son is about 4 to start trying. But really, I’m still trying to decide on whether we hav the finances for a second.

My fiance and I aren’t even sure if we want children, but if we had them, we’d want at least 3 years between babies. This might be tough considering I will be 29 when we marry and we’re waiting to even think about children, but we’re fine having none or just one. Basically we want to do everything the opposite of Future Sister-In-Law and FBIL! They married, got pregnant unexpectedly four months into their marriage, and then purposely got pregnant again when baby #1 was 8 months old. They thought having babies close in age would be great, but what they weren’t prepared for was being told they were having twins. Now they’ll have three babies under the age of 2.

I think I’d want about 2 years. Basically to get done w/ the baby stage ASAP 🙂
