Not sure.. I’d probably send a thank you note letting them know you got it but wait to cash it.

Definitely send a thank you as soon as you get it. I would cash it, only because sometimes people hate waiting for checks to go through. They would have waited to send it if they didn’t think you might cash it.

Definitely cash it!  They probably wrote it b/c they have the $$ in their accounts.  I’d hate for someone’s bills to get messed up b/c they didn’t realize it was cashed.  I wouldn’t use the $$ until after wedding though!

I vote cash it right away. It was sent early on purpose 🙂

Plus at least some people would hate seeing the unbalanced checking account at the end of the month if you wait!

I would say wait a few days after you get the check to cash it. You don’t want to look desperate but you also want to cash it on time so it can be debited from the gifters bank account. There is nothing worse than giving a cheque to someone when it takes them more than a week or two to cash it.

I also say cash it now. I actually know some people that really hate to have outstanding checks on their account.
