So, contrary to my last post, FH and I have decided to do a sparkler exit from our reception. Now we’re wrestling with how to time that piece of the night, and so again I defer to you wonderful people for advice!
Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all at the same venue. The ceremony will start at 4, with the cocktail hour from 4:30-5:30, and then a plated dinner beginning around 5:45 or 6. The cake cutting will be at about 8pm. We’ll have lots going on at our reception — dancing, photobooth, and even some ongoing games (because we’ll have that kind of a crowd), so we don’t want to rush folks and time our exit too early. On the other hand, we don’t want to leave it until too late, because we don’t want everyone to get tired and go to bed! We were thinking of doing the exit at 10:45pm. I’ve heard some people say that more than five hours is too much for people, but doing it at 9 seems way too early to me, especially since we have our venue until midnight!
What do you guys think? Is 10:45 too late?
