Um… well mine was an accident. I was kinda wanting to TTC in the winter or the beginning of next year, to enjoy a bit of our married life. I also have alot going on right now, I was also wanting to go back to school. Background I am 27, he 34. This is my first pregnancy.

But…. I am still happy I am pregnant even though it was not the ideal situation. I am sure I can always go back to school later.

I have a friend who got engaged at 23, married at 24, baby at 25.  This was like her LIFE DREAM – she always had those numbers in her head.

Anyhow, she got pregnant like 2 months after the wedding.  She’s said numerous times that she wishes they would have waited a year, to have a year as newlyweds, before TTC and getting pregnant.

@redheadem:  11 weeks. He is happy about it with no worries, but he is at that time of his life where he is ready and has been wanting to have a baby for a few years now.

We got pregnant before we were ready (11 months into the relationship) and didn’t have the baby. We’re waiting at least another year and a half to TTC, and I regret nothing! This time has been really important in building a foundation for our marriage and future family. We’ve gotten to travel extensively, move cross country, save money, grow in our careers, etc.

@Cady:  you can certainly still go back to school even if you are pregnant—I knew of a few women who were pregnant and the professors were very understanding about extending deadlines and such

@sylvia.riggle:  I was thinking about that, but I want to get a bachelors in either Animal Sience or Biology. Right now I have an associates in registered veterinary technology. I would like to move on to others things rather then small animal medicine. So I would not be able to participate in a whole lot like surgery, radiology and such. They have a way for you to view your classmates doing these things, but I really want to do those things too so I can learn. Thanks for the encouragment though, it does mean alot! 🙂

I suppose I could look into taking a few of the less hands on classes to get out of the way….that is definitely something to consider.

Obviously alot of my duties are now limited at the hospital I work at. So, I guess I kinda feel useless? I do not really like to feel that way Haha, so I have been training on reception work.

I know I will go back eventually, so it is not too big of a deal.

@redheadem:  I am sure he will eventually! Like I said, my husband is 34 so that is probably why he is so supportive.

ours was also not completely planned, but after the initial shock, we were fine with it. yes i wanted more time to be married (i NEVER thought that i would be pregnant on our one year anniversary!), and i wanted to finish my PhD before i even got pregnant (now i am trying to finish before i give birth!).  But because of our age, we are also really happy. i was partly struggling with waiting because i didn’t want to be like in my late 30s when we had kids.  We are now 31 and 33, so age wise, we are happy.

However, what does make me regret the timing of right now is that coincidentally two job postings have gone up in fields that i REALLY want and could possibly get if not for the fact that i am already almost 4 months pregnant. i mean, could they not have been posted 6 months ago or a year from now, why NOW?!

@redheadem:  I don’t know….. probably not. I don’t think I was mentally ready to be mature enough.
