Hi there bees, we’re doing an immediate family only wedding (for now) and would like to have the ceremony either in a little church or a church-like historical venue if possible*. I think we’ll be about 20 people at most. Most of what I’m seeing holds a lot of people (and is priced to match). I’m hoping to find something for $500 or less (though I’d pay a *little* more if it’s especially great) and I’m willing to be flexible to do it (quick ceremony, weekday, no music, no bridal party, outside the city if necessary). Everything I’ve seen so far seems to be in the $1000 range, although I have not tried to negotiate yet. I was wondering if there are any leads out there…?
*–I’m Christian and he’s Catholic but neither of us are current members of any church.

Hey! Im from Toronto. I’ve heard of this place before: http://torontoweddingchapel.com/ I’ve eaten at the St. Louis bar and grill right across from it many times, so that’s how I heard of it.
Granted, it’s not exactly a chuch, more like a little chapel. And it’s along yonge street in one of the long plazas along there. But it caters to very small groups so maybe it’ll work for you?
Best of luck.

Country Heritage Park in Milton has a Church on the property the website says it’s 1987 and the Brochure they gave me lists it as built in 1876. It’s a small white church with turn of the century artifacts, the windows, pews and oil lamps are all original. The rental fee is $300 – an additional $100 for decorating and rehersal.

http://www.countryheritagepark.com/weddings-and-rental-spaces/unique-event-spaces/
